CARY, NC — November 2, 2017 — McKesson Specialty Pharmacy Solutions is pleased to announce Paula Bickley as Vice President, Market Access. In this new role, Paula will be tasked with expanding payer contracts to provide broader access to treatment for specialty pharmacy patients. In doing so, Paula will focus heavily on identifying solutions to help payers navigate the evolving value-based care landscape.
“Payers are a critical stakeholder in healthcare today and are experiencing unprecedented market challenges,” said Paula. “I look forward to working directly with payers who understand the value Biologics can bring to both patient care and risk management strategies.”
Since 2013, Paula has served as Vice President, Clinician Services. Under her leadership, the Clinician Services team has grown rapidly. Beginning as a regional team of practice liaisons focused on supporting Mid-Atlantic oncology practices, there are now more than 30 managers, liaisons and specialists serving oncology practices in all 50 states.
Leveraging the growth of her team, Paula drove a significant increase in sales over the past four years, from $250M in 2013 to $1.2B in 2016. She was also a key contributor in the successful integration of Biologics and McKesson Specialty Health, following the 2016 acquisition of Biologics by McKesson Corporation.
Paula joined Biologics in 2009 as Director of the Physician and Cancer Center Liaison Group, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in managed care and physician practice management. Her prior work focused on developing and maintaining provider networks for managed care plans, provider-sponsored organizations and academic medical centers. Paula also founded and managed a private consulting firm that provided physician practice management services including payor contract negotiation, technology implementation, revenue cycle management and employee training and professional development.
Paula will transition into her new role, effective November 1, 2017. Dan Duffy, Vice President and General Manager, McKesson Specialty Pharmacy Solutions, will take on the active leadership role for the Clinician Services team on an interim basis until a new vice president is named.
